As described in our terms and conditions, insurance claims only apply to lenders. While borrowers are liable for any damages, if a borrower is contesting a claim of a lender and not willing to pay immediately, a request can be made to have Rentbridge pay in the mean-time and take over interactions with the borrower from there. Our insurance covers upto $1000 per item, with no deductible.
Our coverage applies to: damages in need of repair and lost or stolen items.
If needed, Rentbridge will pursue legal action against the borrower on your behalf. A statement may be required from you.
All rental transactions require that users take photo/video evidence of condition and/or operation prior and after the transaction occurs. You will need to show this when making a claim.
Damages caused by normal wear and tear or caused by neglect of maintenance or care by the lender are excluded. Expendable items such is batteries and light bulbs are excluded.
Items not paid for through our service or which are declared by our service to be illegitimate postings (such as firearms or illegal items) are excluded. Claims are limited to one per month per person.
Claims must be made within 72 hours of the end of a booking or they will not be accepted or reviewed.
In order to make a claim, email us at email@example.com with the subject “Rentbridge Claim”. The corresponding photo and/or video evidence from before and after the process should be attached or linked. Please also reference your username and that of the borrower.
Rentbridge will the be in contact with you as soon as possible via phone to discuss the claim and will then reach out to the borrower as well to resolve the issue as amicably as possible. In the event of a strong dispute, Rentbridge’s legal team will step in to resolve the issue.
Insurance money can be expected to be sent within 5 business days of the resolution date.
